Home Improvement Lead Qualification.
Interested Homeowners, Live-Transferred.

VoiceOI automates home improvement lead qualification for home services teams: a voice bot calls your leads, asks whether they own the home, what the project is and when they want it done, and live-transfers the interested homeowners to your team.

What Counts as a Qualified Home Improvement Lead

A lead is qualified when your sales team would be glad to take the call. For most home improvement offers that comes down to a few answers, and each one is a question you can put in the bot's script, with a branch for yes, no and unclear:

  • Ownership. Does the person own the home? Renters get a polite close, logged NQ.
  • Project type. Windows, roofing, HVAC or whatever you sell; the script names your offer so the answer is a clear yes or no.
  • Timeline. Is the project planned for the next few months? People who say “not right now” can be logged as a callback.
  • Service area.Filter the list by state, area code or ZIP before dialing, or ask for a ZIP code on the call if your list isn't filtered.
  • Budget, if your offer needs one.Ask it as one more question, as long as you stay within your tier's question limit.

Qualified homeowners are live-transferred to your team. The AI fronter for call centers page explains the fronter-to-closer model in more depth.

How Home Improvement Lead Qualification Works

  1. 1

    Draft the script

Start from a marketplace template or the transcript of a call that went well, then adjust the questions in the no-code builder.

  2. 2

    Test before launch

Run test calls in the simulator and change the flow until it sounds right.

  3. 3

    Launch the campaign

Upload a CSV lead list or use your VICIdial lists, filter by state, area code or ZIP, and set calling windows and retries.

  4. 4

    Transfer and review

Interested homeowners are live-transferred to your team over SIP, and every call is logged with a disposition, recording and transcript.

What Happens When a Homeowner Qualifies, Declines or Is Unreachable

A homeowner who passes your questions is handed over SIP to someone on your team, who takes the live call and sets the estimate or appointment. On the Good Fronter tiers, AI-written notes from the conversation go with the transfer, so your team knows what the homeowner already said.

The other outcomes end the call and are logged with a disposition. A voicemail greeting or other machine ends the call, logged AM, with no message left. A request not to be called ends the call and is recorded against the lead. A homeowner who is not interested after your one rebuttal gets a polite close, logged NI, and one who asks for later is logged as a callback.

Scripting Home Services Calls: Questions and Objections

Questions that earn their place

Each fronter tier has a question limit (see the tier table below), so ask the few questions that separate a real job from idle curiosity.

Objection branches

Script answers to "not interested", "call me later" and "send me information", each ending with the disposition you choose.

Voices

Choose from more than 200 voices, including cloned ones, to fit your brand.

Sample Home Improvement Qualification Script

A short branching script for a recorded-voice bot. Replace the bracketed parts with your offer and service area. Selling solar? The solar AI appointment setter page has a solar-specific script.

  1. 1

    Greeting

Bot says“Hi, this is Sam, a virtual assistant with [Company]. How are you doing today?”

    • Good: "Good to hear." Go to step 2.
    • Not great: "Sorry to hear that. I'll be quick." Go to step 2.
  2. 2

    Homeowner check

Bot says“We're calling homeowners in [area] about [window replacement]. Are you the homeowner?”

    • Yes: Go to step 3.
    • No, I rent: A polite close, logged NQ.
    • Not interested: Go to step 4.
  3. 3

    Project and timing

Bot says“Are you thinking about a [window] project in the next few months?”

    • Yes: Go to step 5.
    • Not right now: "No problem, we'll check back another time." Logged as a callback.
  4. 4

    One rebuttal

Bot says“I understand. [Your offer, for example a free in-home estimate] only takes a few minutes to set up. Would that be okay?”

    • Yes: Go to step 3.
    • No: A polite close, logged NI.
  5. 5

    Transfer line

Bot says“Great. Please stay on the line and I'll connect you with someone from our team.”

    • Then: The live call is transferred over SIP and logged XFER.

What VoiceOI Does Not Do

  • Schedule jobs in your calendar or field-service software, or send texts: interested homeowners are transferred live or logged as a callback.
  • Sync to a CRM yet: CRM integrations are coming soon.
  • Hold conversations in languages other than English: calls are English-first.

Home Improvement Lead Qualification FAQs

Which home services campaigns can VoiceOI run?

Outbound campaigns where the first call qualifies interest: home improvement, roofing, windows, HVAC, home warranties and similar offers. The bot asks your questions and live-transfers interested homeowners to your team.

Do I have to build the script from scratch?

No. You can start from a shared script in the VoiceOI template marketplace, or paste the transcript of a call that went well and let VoiceOI draft a starting call flow from it. Either way you then edit it in the visual builder.

What does my team see after a transfer?

Your team member takes the live call. On the Good Fronter tiers, AI-written notes from the conversation come with it, and every call has a recording, transcript and disposition in the dashboard.

Do I need a new phone provider?

No. VoiceOI works with VICIdial (bots as remote agents) and with any SIP carrier, including Twilio and Telnyx SIP trunks.

Can the bot book the estimate or appointment?

No. VoiceOI doesn't book calendar appointments. Your team sets the estimate or appointment on the live transfer, and homeowners who ask to be called back are logged as a callback.

What consent do I need for AI-voice calls?

Prior express written consent for telemarketing calls with an AI voice, because the FCC's February 2024 ruling treats AI-generated voices as artificial voices under the TCPA. VoiceOI's controls help, but compliance is yours; check your lead sources with your counsel.
