VoiceOI
AI Cold Calling for Outbound Sales

AI Calling Software for Sales.
Bots Make the Calls. Closers Close.

VoiceOI is AI calling software for sales teams that work with closers. Voice bots take the first call on your outbound campaigns: they dial your leads, end calls that reach answering machines, ask your qualifying questions and live-transfer interested prospects to a human closer. It runs inside VICIdial or through your own SIP carrier, prepaid per bot with no per-minute AI fee.

  • Outbound sales calls
  • Live transfer to your closers
  • VICIdial or any SIP carrier
  • From $25 per bot per month
  • No per-minute AI fee

What AI Calling Software for Sales Does

AI calling software for sales puts a voice bot on the phone for the first part of the call. With VoiceOI, that bot is a fronter: it introduces your company, checks the prospect against the criteria you set and hands the ones who qualify to a salesperson while they are still on the line.

It is built for outbound floors that already have closers: call centers, BPOs and sales teams working opted-in, aged and re-engagement lists. The bot doesn't book meetings or send follow-up texts. It makes the call and passes the prospect to a person, the way an AI live transfer campaign works.

Example call log
  1. [DIAL]Lead dialed inside its calling window
  2. [AMD]A person answered, not a machine
  3. [OPEN]AI-voice disclosure, then the opener
  4. [ASK]"We already have something": objection branch
  5. [RULE]Answers meet the transfer rule
  6. [XFER]Live call handed to a closer over SIP
  7. [LOG]Disposition, recording and transcript saved

Automated Cold Calling: What Bots Handle and What Your Team Keeps

Most of a cold calling shift isn't selling: it's dialing, rings, voicemail greetings and quick no's. That is the part the bots take.

The bots

  • Dial each lead on your schedule, inside your calling windows
  • Hang up on answering machines and log them as AM
  • Play an optional AI-voice disclosure, then your opener
  • Ask your qualifying questions and follow the branch for each answer
  • Handle the objections you scripted, such as "call me later"
  • End the call when someone asks not to be called again
  • Live-transfer qualified prospects to a closer

Your sales team

  • Take the live transfer and run the sales conversation
  • Answer the questions your script doesn't cover
  • Close the deal, book the appointment or set the follow-up
  • Review recordings and transcripts to sharpen the script

How an AI Sales Call Runs, From Dial to Live Transfer

You set the questions, rules and routing once. Every call then follows the same seven steps.

  1. 1

    Load your leads

Upload a CSV lead list to the built-in dialer and filter it by state, area code or ZIP. On VICIdial, your lists and campaigns stay where they are, and the bots join as remote agents.

  2. 2

Set when and how to call

Schedule the campaign, set calling windows by each lead's timezone, choose how unanswered leads are retried, and set pacing within your carrier's limits.

  3. 3

    Dial and screen out machines

The bot dials each lead inside your calling windows. When a machine or voicemail greeting answers, the call ends and is logged as AM, with no message left.

  4. 4

    Open the call

If you turn it on, an AI-voice disclosure plays first. Then your opening line introduces the company and asks whether the person has a minute.

  5. 5

    Qualify and handle objections

The bot asks your qualifying questions in order and follows the branch you wrote for each answer, objections included. A spoken do-not-call request ends the call.

  6. 6

    Live-transfer to a closer

When the answers meet your transfer rule, the live call goes over SIP to the closer your routing rules pick, and the bot's part of the call ends. Good Fronter tiers add AI-written comments for the closer.

  7. 7

    Log the result

Every call gets a disposition, a recording and a transcript. On VICIdial campaigns, the outcome is also written back to VICIdial.

Lists, windows, retries and pacing are set in the outbound call campaign manager, and answering machine detection for call centers explains how machine-answered calls are caught.

Sample AI Cold Calling Script With Objection Branches

A fronter script as you would lay it out in the no-code AI voice agent builder. Text in brackets is a placeholder for your offer.

  1. 1

    Opener

Bot says“Hi, this is Sam, a virtual assistant calling for [Company] about the [offer] information you asked for. Do you have a minute?”

    • Yes: Go to step 2.
    • I'm busy, call me later: "No problem, we'll try you another time." The call ends, logged as a callback.
    • Don't call me again: Do-not-call handling ends the call and records the request.
  2. 2

    Decision maker

Bot says“Great. Are you the person who'd be making the decision on [product]?”

    • Yes: Go to step 3.
    • No: A polite close, logged as not qualified.
  3. 3

    Need, with an objection branch

Bot says“Are you looking at options for [product] right now?”

    • Yes: Go to step 4.
    • We already have something: "Understood. Plenty of people say that before they compare. Would a short call with a specialist be worth it?" Yes goes to step 4; no is a polite close, logged as not interested.
  4. 4

    Timing

Bot says“And are you hoping to have this sorted in the next [timeframe]?”

    • Yes: Go to step 5.
    • Not for a while: A polite close, logged as a callback or not qualified, as you choose.
  5. 5

    Transfer line

Bot says“Thanks, that's everything I need. Please stay on the line while I connect you with a specialist who can go over the details.”

    • Then: The live call is transferred over SIP to your closer.

Question limits differ by tier, so check them on the per-bot pricing page before you add more qualifiers. You can also start from a marketplace template or draft a script from the transcript of a good call.

Recorded-Voice Bots vs AI Agents for Cold Calls

VoiceOI builds two kinds of voice bot, and both are made without code.

Recorded-voice bots

Your own recordings or pre-generated voice lines follow a branching script, so every call uses the wording you approved. The fronter and closer tiers on the price list include live transfers.

AI agents

A language model holds the conversation inside limits you set in the builder, for freer qualifying calls. On the price list, generative AI comes with the LG tiers, which don't include live transfers.

Build either kind in the no-code AI voice agent builder and test it in the simulator before it dials a lead.

Fronter, Closer or LG: Choosing an AI Cold Calling Bot

Fronter and closer bots run the branching script you build and live-transfer. LG bots use generative AI inside the limits you set, but don't transfer.

Who This AI Calling Software Fits

Teams where a person closes on the phone, and the hours before that are spent dialing.

Sales floors with closers

Licensed agents or salespeople who close on the phone, for example final expense AI calling or AI voice agent for insurance campaigns. Bots do the fronting; closers get the transfers.

BPOs running outbound campaigns

Keep each client in its own organization, budget per bot for each campaign and share the recordings behind every transfer. More on AI for BPO call centers.

Appointment setters

The bot qualifies and transfers; your setter books the appointment on the live call. See AI appointment setting calls and the solar AI appointment setter.

Not a fit if you want bots to book meetings into a calendar, send email or text sequences, or speed up dialing for your own reps. VoiceOI makes the call itself and hands it to a person.

Where the Bots Dial: VICIdial or Your SIP Carrier

Inside VICIdial

Bots join your campaigns as VICIdial remote agents, provisioned in bulk. Lists, dial settings and recycling rules stay in VICIdial, and each bot call is written back as a disposition. See the VICIdial AI voice bot page.

Through your SIP carrier

The built-in dialer runs bot campaigns over any SIP carrier, including Twilio and Telnyx SIP trunks. Add the carrier by pasting its sip.conf or pjsip.conf block into the Carrier Manager. See SIP trunk for AI voice agents.

Pricing for AI Sales Calls: Per Bot, Not Per Minute

VoiceOI bills a prepaid monthly price per bot, so capacity follows the number of bots you run. There is no per-minute AI fee, because speech recognition, voices and the language model run on VoiceOI infrastructure by default. Your carrier still bills the call minutes.

  • List prices run from $25 to $155 per bot per month, by bot class and connection type.
  • Fronter bots, which live-transfer, start at $25; AI-written closer comments start at $35 on the Good Fronter tiers.
  • Volume discounts go up to 60%, and every tier has a price floor.
  • Closer bots can use the Advanced Voice Engine: 2 Workers Free (then $15/worker). The Standard Voice Engine is included at no extra cost.

Every tier is on the per-bot pricing page. A per-minute platform adds cost as calls get longer; a per-bot price doesn't. To compare, see AI voice agent pricing compared and AI calling cost per minute.

Consent and Compliance for AI Cold Calls

Since the FCC's February 2024 ruling, AI-generated voices count as "artificial" voices under the TCPA, so telemarketing calls that use them need the called person's prior express written consent. For AI cold calling, that means first calls to people who opted in, such as web leads, aged leads and re-engagement lists with consent on record. You stay responsible for compliance, and this is not legal advice.

On the VoiceOI side, a spoken do-not-call request that matches your phrase list ends the call, an optional AI-voice disclosure can play before your opener, timezone windows hold dials to the hours you set, and every call keeps a recording and transcript.

Details: TCPA controls for outbound calling and do-not-call (DNC) controls.

What VoiceOI Doesn't Do

So you can rule it in or out quickly, VoiceOI does not:

  • Book meetings into a calendar or send SMS. Your closer sets the appointment on the live transfer.
  • Close the sale. The bot qualifies and transfers; a person on your team closes.
  • Sync with a CRM. CRM integrations are coming soon; today you get VICIdial write-back, plus Google Sheets export on the Pro LG tiers.
  • Leave voicemails. When a machine answers, the call ends.
  • Answer inbound calls. VoiceOI is outbound only.
  • Power-dial or parallel-dial for human reps. Keep your dialer for that.
  • Hold conversations in other languages. Calls are English-first.

AI Calling Software for Sales: FAQs

What is AI calling software for sales?

It is software that puts a voice bot on outbound sales calls. With VoiceOI, the bot dials your leads, screens out answering machines, asks your qualifying questions and live-transfers interested prospects to a human closer, who runs the sales conversation.

Can AI make cold calls for me?

It can make the first part of them. VoiceOI bots dial, open the call, qualify the prospect and handle the objections you scripted, then hand qualified prospects to your closers on the same call. The bots don't close sales or book meetings; your team does.

Is AI cold calling legal?

It depends on who you call and what consent you hold, so the safest cold calls are first calls to consented lists such as web opt-ins and aged leads with consent on record. The FCC rule behind that is covered in the consent section of this page. Compliance stays your responsibility, so check your campaigns with your counsel.

How many calls can VoiceOI make at once?

Capacity follows the number of bots you run: VoiceOI bills per bot (seat), and volume discounts are based on how many bots run concurrently. Add bots to add capacity, and set pacing so your carrier's limits are respected.

Does the AI book meetings on my calendar?

No. VoiceOI doesn't connect to calendars. The bot qualifies the prospect and live-transfers the call, and your closer or setter books the appointment during that call.

What happens when the bot reaches voicemail?

The call ends. Answering-machine detection logs it as AM and no message is left.

Does it work with my CRM?

Not yet; CRM integrations are coming soon. Today each call's disposition, recording and transcript are in your VoiceOI dashboard, outcomes are written back on VICIdial campaigns, and the Pro LG tiers can export call data to Google Sheets.

How much does AI calling software for sales cost with VoiceOI?

List prices run from $25 to $155 per bot per month. Fronter bots, which live-transfer, start at $25. Billing is prepaid per bot with no per-minute AI fee, your carrier bills the call minutes, and volume discounts go up to 60%.

Is VoiceOI a power dialer for my sales reps?

No. Power and parallel dialers speed up dialing for human reps. VoiceOI bots make the calls themselves and transfer qualified prospects to your reps. If your reps work in VICIdial, the bots can join the same campaigns as remote agents.
