VoiceOI
AI Dialer

AI Auto Dialer for Call Centers.
The Bot Dials and Handles the Call.

An AI dialer is software where an AI voice bot places the outbound call and handles the conversation, so no human rep dials or waits on the line. VoiceOI is an AI auto dialer for call centers: it works through a lead list, detects answering machines, qualifies whoever picks up, and live-transfers qualified leads to a human closer.

Predictive, Power, Progressive and AI Dialers Compared

Dialers differ in who talks to the person who answers. A traditional auto dialer only connects the call to a rep; an AI auto dialer also holds the conversation. Vendors define power and progressive dialing differently, so the rows below describe the common pattern. Our guide to types of call center dialers quotes how Genesys, Five9, Regal, Dialpad and Mitel each define them.

Dialing modes compared: traditional auto, predictive, power, progressive, voice broadcast and AI voice bot dialers

Power dialerPlaces calls when a rep is ready, often at a fixed ratio of lines per rep that the manager sets. Definitions vary by vendor.A human repSmall and mid-size sales teams that want a steady pace without guesswork.
Progressive dialerPlaces the next call when a rep is available. Some vendors dial one number per free rep, some use a preset ratio and some add a preview step.A human repTeams that want to see lead details before each call.

VoiceOI is in the last row only. It does not pace calls for human reps; see the limits below, and the AI telemarketing software page for how AI sits next to a rep-based floor.

How an AI Auto Dialer Call Works

From a loaded lead list to a logged outcome, with no rep dialing.

  1. 1

    Load the list

Upload a CSV lead list, or keep your lists in VICIdial. Filter by state, area code or ZIP code, then set calling windows and retries.

  2. 2

    Dial and check for machines

Each bot places one call at a time. Voicemail greetings and other machines are detected, and the call ends without leaving a message.

  3. 3

    Qualify the person

After your optional AI-voice disclosure, the bot asks the questions you built in the no-code script builder and branches on each answer.

  4. 4

    Transfer or log the outcome

Qualified leads are handed over SIP to a closer. Every other call ends with a disposition, a recording and a transcript.

Built-In Dialer for Bot Campaigns

You do not need VICIdial to run an AI auto dialer with VoiceOI. The built-in dialer runs bot campaigns directly: you upload a lead list, pick a carrier, set the pacing in the campaign manager for outbound bots and press start, then watch calls in a realtime view.

Carriers connect over SIP. Paste your carrier's sip.conf or pjsip.conf block into the Carrier Manager and bots dial through it, whether that is a Twilio SIP trunk, a Telnyx SIP trunk or any other SIP trunk for AI voice agents. Dialing and the transfer run over that SIP trunk.

  • Lead lists: upload a CSV list for each campaign.
  • Filters: limit who gets dialed by state, area code or ZIP code.
  • Carriers: bring your own SIP carrier through the Carrier Manager.
  • Pacing: set how fast the campaign works through the list.
  • Realtime view: see calls as they happen.

AI Dialer for VICIdial Call Centers

If your floor already runs VICIdial, you do not replace it. VoiceOI bots join VICIdial as remote agents, so VICIdial keeps your lists, campaigns and reports. You can add many bots at once with bulk provisioning, and each call's outcome comes back to VICIdial as a disposition. The VICIdial AI voice bot page walks through this, and the VICIdial AI integration page covers the setup.

That makes an AI dialer an add-on to your dialer, not a swap. Keep your human reps on the pace your VICIdial campaign gives them, and let bots take the first-contact calls that do not need a person.

Answering-Machine Detection on an AI Dialer

On an outbound list, some dials reach a voicemail greeting or another machine. With answering machine detection for outbound calls, the bot recognizes a machine, ends the call and logs it as AM, then moves to the next lead. It never leaves a message after the beep.

Detection uses machine phrase lists, which are editable per organization and can be imported and exported. Check the dispositions and recordings after a run, and adjust the lists to the greetings your leads actually have.

Fronter, Closer and Generative AI Bots on the Dialer

Which bot you dial with decides what happens at the end of the call. AI fronter bots run a short branching script, built in the no-code script builder, then live-transfer qualified leads to your closers. Closer bots carry a longer script with deeper branching. Generative AI lead-generation bots hold a freer conversation, but they do not live-transfer.

A transfer hands the live call to a human closer over SIP, with AI-written notes about the call, on the Good Fronter tiers. Closer routing rules decide who takes each call. See AI live transfer for call centers for the full flow.

Where AI Dialer Call Results Go

Every call ends with a disposition, a recording and a transcript. If you run VICIdial, the disposition is written back to VICIdial. Pro generative (LG) bots can also append one row per call to a Google Sheet; see Google Sheets export for call data. The fronter and closer tiers do not include the Sheets export, and VoiceOI does not import leads from Sheets.

AI Dialer Campaign Controls

Set from the campaign manager, so the dialer works the hours and the leads you choose.

Scheduling

Choose when a campaign runs, so calls go out during the hours you set.

Timezone calling windows

Bots dial only inside the hours you set for each lead's timezone.

Retries

Set how leads that did not connect are tried again, so one miss is not the end of a lead.

State, area-code and ZIP filters

Limit a campaign to the places you serve before a single call is placed.

Dispositions

Each call ends with a logged outcome, such as transferred, answering machine or not qualified, written back to VICIdial when you use it.

One concurrent call per bot

Concurrency equals the number of bots you run, so capacity and cost are easy to predict.

AI Dialer Cost: Per Bot vs Per Seat vs Per Minute

Three common pricing models. What changes between them is what makes the bill grow.

AI dialer cost compared across per-seat, per-minute and per-bot pricing
Pricing modelYou pay forYour bill grows with
Per seatPriced per human user of the dialer. The number of reps on the floor.
Per minutePriced by talk time. Whether carrier fees are included varies by vendor.Total talk time across all calls.
Per bot (VoiceOI)Each bot, prepaid monthly: $25 to $155 per bot at list price, with no per-minute AI fee.How many bots you run, which sets how many calls go out at once.

For sourced per-minute rates from other voice AI platforms, see AI voice agent pricing compared, and for the dialer view see AI dialer cost: per-seat vs per-bot pricing.

Worked Example: 10 Bots Dialing at Once

Take 10 VICIdial Good Fronter bots. The list price is $35 per bot per month, and the 15% volume discount at 10 bots brings it to $29.75 per bot. That is $297.50 a month for up to 10 simultaneous calls, with no per-minute AI fee.

Carrier charges are separate: with VICIdial you bring your own SIP carrier and pay its rate. Prices by bot type start at $25 per bot per month for fronter bots, $50 for generative AI bots and $100 for closer bots. Discounts reach 60% at 250 bots or more, with a price floor for each tier.

List prices from the VoiceOI pricing page; closer notes come with the Good Fronter tiers.

When to Keep a Predictive Dialer

An AI auto dialer and a predictive dialer solve different problems. A predictive, power or parallel dialer keeps a room of human reps busy. An AI dialer replaces the human on the first-contact call. VoiceOI is the second kind only.

Keep your current dialer if your reps make the calls themselves from start to finish. Add VoiceOI if you want bots to make the first call and pass only qualified people to your closers.

  • Your reps need predictive, power or parallel pacing across a full list: keep VICIdial or your current dialer for that.
  • You want AI to screen leads before a closer speaks to them: use VoiceOI bots as remote agents or on the built-in dialer.

What VoiceOI Does Not Do as an AI Dialer

  • Pace calls for human reps (predictive, power or parallel dialing).
  • Leave voicemails or drop ringless messages: when a machine answers, the call ends.
  • Take inbound calls.
  • Sync to a CRM today: CRM integrations are coming soon.
  • Send texts, book calendar slots or take payments.
  • Import leads from Google Sheets: leads come from CSV upload or VICIdial.
  • Hold conversations in languages other than English: calls are English-first.

AI Auto Dialer FAQs

Short answers on concurrency, VICIdial, consent and voicemail.

How many calls can an AI auto dialer make at once?

One call per bot at a time, so your concurrency is the number of bots you run. Your carrier or SIP trunk must also have enough channels to carry those calls at once. Volume discounts apply as you add bots; the worked example on this page shows the numbers.

Does the AI dialer work with VICIdial?

Yes. Bots appear in VICIdial as remote agents and can be added in bulk. VICIdial keeps your lists, campaigns and reports, and each call outcome is written back as a disposition. If you do not run VICIdial, the built-in dialer runs bot campaigns on its own through any SIP carrier.

What are the TCPA rules for AI-voice calls?

AI-generated voices count as artificial voices under the TCPA, so telemarketing calls made with them need prior express written consent from the person called, and the compliance duty stays with you. The TCPA section above covers what that means for the numbers you load. This is not legal advice.

Can the AI dialer leave voicemails?

No. When answering-machine detection hears a machine, the call ends and is logged as AM (voicemail). The bot does not leave a message after the beep, and there is no ringless voicemail. The bot moves on to the next lead.

Is VoiceOI a predictive, power or parallel dialer?

No. Those dialers pace calls so that human reps are never idle, and VoiceOI does not do that. Our bots place and handle the calls themselves. If you pace human reps today, keep VICIdial or your current dialer for that and add bots as remote agents.

How do I load leads into the AI dialer?

Upload a CSV lead list, or keep your lists in VICIdial and let bots work them as remote agents. Pro generative (LG) bots can append each call to a Google Sheet, but VoiceOI cannot import leads from Sheets.

How is an AI auto dialer priced?

Per bot, prepaid monthly, with no per-minute AI fee. The price depends on bot type and connection, and volume discounts apply as you add bots. The cost table and worked example on this page show the numbers, and every tier is on the pricing page.
